Before joining Fenix Medical, Marisa Martinez worked for 25 years at a local hospital. Martinez worked in the hospital’s Human Resources department for five years, completing daily activities such as Workers Comp, and processing new employees, volunteers and insurance claims.
After several years at the hospital, Martinez earned a promotion as the Executive Assistant to the Hospital Administrator. She served as the Administrator’s point of contact, coordinating her calendar, making travel arrangements, screening phone calls and recording meeting minutes.
After 15 years, Martinez transferred to the hospital’s Risk Management department, where she worked in conjunction with the hospital’s malpractice attorneys, investigating and processing claims brought against the hospital.
With her wealth of medical industry experience, Martinez joined the Fenix Medical family in 2015 as a Receptionist, screening calls, making appointments, greeting patients and maintaining patient appointment schedules.
Martinez now manages the Medical Records department, where she maintains all patient records to ensure that these are accurate and ready for scheduled appointments. She scans all medical reports and matches them to the patients’ charts. Martinez also obtains medical reports from hospitals and physicians’ offices, among other daily functions.
