Fenix Medical Launches TeleMedicine Services

CORAL GABLES, FL — July 1, 2020 — Fenix Medical, South Florida’s #1 Family-Oriented Primary Care Practice has announced the launch of its TeleMedecine service as a measure to protect its patients from the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure patient access to their doctors.
The Fenix Medical TeleMedicine program allows patients to connect “virtually” with their primary care physicians through Internet platforms such as Zoom, Facetime and WhatsApp.
“Since the majority of our patients are elderly and in the highest-risk population for COVID-19, we wanted to make sure they would have access to their primary doctors without leaving the safety of their homes during the pandemic,” said Fenix Medical COO Eduardo Rubio. “Our TeleMedicine service is a wonderful way for our patients to maintain social distancing while continuing to receive the quality healthcare they are accustomed to.”
To take advantage of the TeleMedicine service, Fenix Medical patients need a smartphone (iPhone or Android), tablet, laptop or desktop computer and an Internet connection. With these devices, they will need to download the WhatsApp communication app, the Zoom teleconferencing app, or simply use the FaceTime videotelephony app that is part of iPhones (from Apple).
Fenix Medical’s patients can request a TeleMedicine appointment by calling 305-446-0330, just as they would for an in-person appointment. Based on the patient’s health condition and Internet access, Fenix’s staff will determine if the TeleMedicine service is a good fit. Patients who qualify will receive an appointment time with their primary doctor and instructions for the best way to connect on WhatsApp, Zoom or FaceTime.
